Nic. Christiansen

 

The history about the Nic. Christiansen Group begins in 1967. Today the group totally employs about 350 employees, creating an annual turnover of about 2 billion Danish kroner.

On this page is a short overview of the development for the group and its import agencies during the years.

Business development

1967
The company is established by Mr. Nic. Christiansen (born 1917).

1974
A pre delivery inspection centre is established in Padborg. In 1978 the pre-delivery inspection centre moves to Vamdrup and the name is changed to Vamdrup Klargøringscentral A/S.

1994
Nic. Christiansen Holding A/S is established as parent company for all activities in the automotive group.

2000- 2004
The nationwide car chain Terminalen is established with businesses in Esbjerg, Kolding, Aarhus, Egaa, Silkeborg, Birkerød and Copenhagen.2008NCG Finans A/S is established. The company offers financial and leasing solutions.

2008
NCG Finans A/S is established. The company offers financing and leasing services.

The import agencies on the Danish market

1967 - BMW
The acquisition of the import agency for BMW was in 1967 the basis for the establishment of the Nic. Christiansen Group. The BMW import was transferred to BMW Group in 2003.

1971 - Skoda
In the company Pradan Auto Import A/S the Skoda import was established in 1971. In 1999 the agency was sold to the VW importer.

1971 - Honda 
The import of Honda was in the agency portfolio from 1971 till 2001, where it was sold to Honda Motor Co. Ltd.

1992 - Hyundai
In 1992 Hyundai Bil Import A/S was established. Today the Hyundai import is one of the primary activities in Nic. Christiansen Holding.

1993 - Land Rover
The import agency for Land Rover was bought from Domi in 1993 – and is among the main activities in Nic. Christiansen Holding today.

1993 - Rover og MG 
At the same time as the Land Rover agency was bought from Domi in 1993, the Rover and MG agency were also acquired. The import of Rover and MG ended, when the Rover and MG factory went bankrupt in 2005.

1993 - Chrysler og Jeep
The import agencies Chrysler and Jeep were acquired in 1993 and were in 2000 handed over to DaimlerChrysler.

1993 - Daihatsu
The import agency for Daihatsu was bought in 1993 and was in 2001 sold to I.M. Group Limited.

1993 - Subaru
The import agency for  Subaru was bought in 1993 and was in 2001 sold to I.M. Group Limited.

2001 - Lada
The import agency for Lada was acquired.

2003 - Unipart
The import of Unipart products was established with the company Unic Parts A/S, which delivers leather interior, spare parts, tools and chemistry products for car repair workshops. Unic Parts A/S was closed down in September 2007 owing to unsatisfactory results. The leather interiør part was after that carried on in the company Dansk Bil Læder A/S, which is a company under Vamdrup Klargøringscentral A/S. In November 2008 the company Dansk Bil Læder A/S was sold to Auto-læder.dk

2007 - Schuberth
The Nic. Christiansen Group has since the early 1980ies had the import agency for Schuberth MC safety helmets. In 2007 the company Schuberth Danmark was established as a subdivision of British Car Import A/S.

2007 - BYD
China Car Import has been established after signing of importer agreement with the Chinese factory BYD Auto Co. Ltd. The first cars go on sale in Denmark in 2011. 

Import agencies in Sweden and Norway

2009 - Land Rover
The Nic. Christiansen Group gets the Land Rover import agency for Norway and Sweden.

2009 - Jaguar
The Nic. Christiansen Group gets the Jaguar import agency for Sweden.
