Ole Mathiesen Biler A/S in Taastrup changes hands per 15th August. The present owner and founder, Ole Mathiesen, ceases after 40 years of success as a car dealer and hand over the driver’s seat to Terminalen A/S, which with the acquisition of Ole Mathiesen Biler A/S wants to strengthen its position as the preferred car dealer of the Danes.
Ole Mathiesen Biler A/S was founded in 1971 and is today dealer of the popular car makes Mazda and Suzuki. Approximately 750 new and used cars change owner each year at the land register in Taastrup, which makes Ole Mathiesen Biler A/S to one of the largest Danish Mazda and Suzuki dealers.
”I am convinced that Terminalen A/S is the right company to take over business and to ensure that our customers will get the same high service level as they have got until now”, says Ole Mathiesen.
Ole Mathiesen Biler A/S is an acknowledged dealer in Taastrup and in the whole area, and this the new owner wants to maintain: “We will carry on the engaged management and the good values and at the same time bring knowledge from Terminalen. The business continues under the same name and with the current approximately 30 employees”, says Niels V. Bertelsen, managing director of Terminalen A/S. Ole Mathiesen himself continues in the board of directors and remains in the chief executive position till 1st September, where the new branch manager Peter Jürs will take over the responsibility for the day-to-day running and development of the business. Peter Jürs comes from a similar position at Carepoint Haslev-Ringsted A/S.
Plans of expansion The acreage on Øtoftegårdsvej 2 in Taastrup, where Ole Mathiesen Biler A/S is housed, is on 8.732 square meters. Today the business occupies 2.100 square meters, but the new owners have plans of an expansion:
“Already this year the project engineering of an expansion of the sales department starts, so that the total area reaches 600 square meters. Our aim is to increase the number of sold cars to 1.200 during the next two-three years. Besides we will focus on increasing the activities in the damage center”, says Niels V. Bertelsen, managing director of Terminalen A/S.
Terminalen A/S started in year 2000 as a company in the Nic. Christiansen Group, and is today a nationwide dealer chain with businesses in Esbjerg, Kolding, Aarhus, Egaa, Silkeborg, Odense, Birkerød and Copenhagen: “Ole Mathiesen Biler A/S becomes the eleventh business of Terminalen. Our strategy is to strengthen the position of Terminalen as the preferred car dealer of the Danes, and therefore we plan further acquisitions in the near future”, tells Niels V. Bertelsen.
