Nic. Christiansen Group receives approval to acquire Autohuset Vestergaard
The acquisition process has been underway since August 2025, when the agreement was reached between the two family-owned companies for Nic. Christiansen Group to acquire Autohuset Vestergaard. With the regulatory approval now secured, the formal framework is in place and work on the acquisition can begin.
“We are delighted to welcome the many talented new colleagues from Autohuset Vestergaard. It is a well-managed company with strong capabilities, and we look forward to bringing our organizations together and leveraging the best strengths of both businesses,” says Niels Vrist Bertelsen, CEO of Nic. Christiansen Group.
Strengthening our position in Denmark
The acquisition is an important step in Nic. Christiansen Group’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position in Denmark and create a more integrated business across the automotive value chain – from import and sales to service and aftermarket operations. Autohuset Vestergaard contributes activities within passenger cars, vans, buses, and trucks, while also bringing a strong local presence that expands the Group’s overall business across several areas. For Autohuset Vestergaard, the approval also marks the beginning of a new chapter as part of a larger group with a shared strategic direction.
“It is a major milestone for Autohuset Vestergaard that the acquisition can now be completed. With Nic. Christiansen Group, we gain an owner with strong values and a clear strategic direction that can help take us to the next level. It has been important for us to ensure that both the business and our employees continue in an organization that genuinely cares, and there is a very strong cultural fit between our two companies,” says Hans Vestergaard, Founder of Autohuset Vestergaard.
Integration preparations begin
With the approval in place and the acquisition approaching, Nic. Christiansen Group can now begin preparing for the integration process. The actual integration of Autohuset Vestergaard into the Group will take place after the acquisition has been completed. The integration will be carried out in phases, with a focus on maintaining stable operations, preserving the strong foundations of both organizations, and realizing the synergies that will further strengthen the Group’s market position.
“The work of bringing our two organizations together as one unified company now begins. This is not about making everything identical, but about combining the best of both businesses and creating a stronger, more resilient organization. Our ambition is to ensure a positive process for both employees and customers while building a foundation that keeps us competitive – both now and in the long term,” says Niels Vrist Bertelsen.
With the acquisition of Autohuset Vestergaard, Nic. Christiansen Group will grow from approximately 1,600 to 2,500 employees across its business areas.
